Give Online

The Bible teaches us to give the first 10% of our income to the "storehouse." God says we can test Him by doing this and watching Him take care of us in return. This may sound like a stretch to you! Just take a step toward toward that goal. If you currently give nothing, start giving something. If you give something, try increasing it a step toward the 10% goal. Trust God! Give Him your first before anything else by setting up a recurring, automated donation online. You will then receive quarterly updates about how your giving is making a difference and how your donations are being used.

Bottom Line: Trust the Word not the world.
1. The world slowly shapes those who casually follow it.
2. The Word steadily shapes those who delight in it.
3. Deep roots produce a stable life.
4. A strong worldview isn't built in crisis; it's built before the crisis.
Trust the Word not the world.
START TALKING:

When have you had or tried something that was a quick fix, a cheaper alternative, that seemed to solve all the problems temporarily only to find that it didn't last in the end? (e.g. fake flowers or fake trees that had no roots and blow away)
START THINKING:

Read Psalm 1:1. What is the progression that you see in this verse? Before someone is sitting with or following the advice of the wicked, what happens that gets them there? What are modern day, practical examples of how this happens?

Read Psalm 1:2-3. What do these verses say are different? Read 2 Peter 3:17 and 1 Peter 5:8. What do these verses say we must do to make this happen? How are the two approaches seen in Psalm 1:1 and 1:2-3 very different?

Read Psalm 1:4 and Isaiah 40:8. What are the results of not being deeply rooted in God's Word?
START SHARING:

How would you describe the difference between simply reading the Bible and "delighting" in God's Word? How have you experienced the difference between merely reading the Bible and meditating on God's Word?

Practice meditating on this one verse together by reading it over and over, but emphasize each word when you do. First read it and emphasize the first word. Then read it again and emphasize the second. Again, and the third word. Etc. How does focusing and emphasizing on a different word each time help you see different meanings and different applications? Each time you emphasize a word, stop and ask that question. Pray through what it might mean for you. Do this for Proverbs 2:1 and 2:5.
START DOING:

What can you do this week to trust the word not the world?

What has the Spirit told you or showed you during this message or throughout this series? What are you going to do about it?

START PRAYING:

Pray for each person in the microchurch to trust the Word and not the world. Pray that each of us will find joy in doing so even when it doesn't feel happy in the moment. Pray that those around us will see Jesus in us as we live for Him and want to follow Jesus, too. Pray by name for each person's "one" and that they will be intentional even this week to make a difference in their lives and look for opportunities to share their story of faith.
We want your experience with Jesus and this community of faith called OneLife to be so much more than an hour on Sundays! See below how you can take a next step.

Take a Next Step!

Don't just attend church for an hour a week. Take a step! What step should you take?
1. Follow Jesus! If you have followed Jesus...
2. Get baptized! If you are following Jesus, then that's all you need to be "ready" to take this step.
3. Volunteer! Don't simply be a consumer, but be part of making a difference in the lives of those who come to OneLife to experience Jesus. There are weekday and Sunday opportunities. Get info about what opportunities there are for you!
4. Join a micro church! You can't have true community sitting in rows with a large crowd. That's not the church - it's an event! Micro churches are small "churches" of 10-12 adults that meet in homes throughout the week to learn together, pray together, serve the community together, and care for each other together.
Get more information about any of the above, send us your prayer requests so we can pray with you, or ask any question we can help you with by filling out the online connection card!
