God satisfies our deepest thirst through the Rock of our salvation | Don't Join the Club - Part 03

God satisfies our deepest thirst through the Rock of our salvation | Don't Join the Club - Part 03

In Don’t Join the Club (Exodus 15–18), we journey with the Israelites as they leave 430 years of slavery behind. Freedom should lead to praise, but within just three days they’re complaining about food and water. Despite their constant whining, God continues to provide, protect, and guide them. This series challenges us not to join the “Club of Whiners,” but to recognize the God who provides streams in deserts, bread in hunger, victory in battles, and wisdom in confusion. At Rephidim, there’s no water, and once again the people quarrel with Moses. God instructs Moses to strike the rock, and water flows. Paul later reveals that this Rock was Christ (1 Cor. 10:4). This sermon highlights God’s grace in the face of undeserved complaining, and how Christ is our ultimate provision.

Godly leaders are surrounded by others.
Godly leaders are surrendered to Jesus.
Let the water and the blood. From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure, Save me from its wrath and power.
Next Step: Am I reacting to people’s complaints, relying upon my own strength, or leading people to the Rock?
