We engage the Lord through daily personal encounters by welcoming the Holy Spirit, asking the Lord to speak to us, praying the Lord's Prayer and listening for His response.

Here is a guide to help you encounter God daily!

Remembrance Overview:

You connect with God through remembrance. When you remember what He has done, you feel close to the Lord. Through remembrance, you enter into His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. When you remember, you are given access into His presence. You enter into God’s presence daily by raising up your Ebenezer (1 Samuel 7:12), which is an altar of remembrance for how God has helped you.

To you, remembering can look like going back in your journals at what God told you or did in past seasons, taking communion to reflect on His body and His blood, stewarding prophetic words, or partnering with the saints of past generations in celebrations and traditions.

You are brought into God’s presence when a song brings you back to an encounter you had with Him in the past. You encounter the Holy Spirit when you remember His faithfulness. Remembering can look like intentionally looking back in history at the moves of God and partnering with them now. When you look back, you are able to look forward with hope for the future.

Remembrance is something that God taught Israel. Israel was often instructed to reflect and remember before entering into a new season. The act of remembering was woven into every part of their culture because when we remember, we worship.

Some Encouragement For Remembrance:

You remember so you can move forward. Remembrance is a way that we can move forward with God in gratitude. Remembrance is not being stuck in the past, but an invitation to recall God’s faithfulness, His presence, and past encounters that catapult you into new ones.

When you remember, you can see who God is. When it is difficult to remember, invite the Holy Spirit to walk with you and show you His presence in the past. Ask Jesus where He is with you in the present, and how He will lead you into your future.

- Gratitude opens our hearts to God's presence.

- Every testimony becomes an invitation to trust God again.

- The God who was faithful yesterday will be faithful tomorrow.

- Looking back reminds us that God has never abandoned His people.

- Your testimony has the power to encourage someone else's faith.

- God often prepares us for the future by reminding us of His faithfulness in the past.

- We don't remember because God forgets—we remember because we are prone to forget.

(1) Connect With God Through Remembrance

Here are some practical ways that you can connect with God.

Ask God What Is on His Heart:
Begin your prayer time by asking:
"Lord, what is on Your heart today?"

Allow your prayers to move beyond your own needs and toward God's purposes.

Pray, "On Earth as It Is in Heaven"
Regularly pray Jesus' prayer:
"Your Kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."

Invite God's rule, peace, justice, and righteousness into every area of life.

Pray for Your Community:
Intercede for your city, schools, churches, businesses, government leaders, and families. Ask God to bring healing, revival, reconciliation, and restoration.

Turn Prayer into Action:
When God reveals a need, ask:
"Lord, how do You want me to respond?"

Be willing to become part of the answer to the prayers you are praying.

Carry a Burden with Compassion:
Allow your heart to be moved by the things that move God's heart.
- Pray for the lost.
- Stand for truth.
- Care for the vulnerable.
- Encourage the discouraged.
- Seek reconciliation where there is division.

Live as an Ambassador of Christ:
Wherever you go, intentionally represent Jesus through your words, attitudes, decisions, and actions.
Bring the culture of Heaven into every environment.

Pray Over Areas That Need Restoration:
Walk through your home, workplace, school, or neighborhood praying for God's peace, healing, and transformation.

Listen Before You Act:
Not every burden requires immediate action. Take time to seek God's wisdom and direction before stepping forward.

Examine Your Own Heart:
Ask the Holy Spirit:
"Lord, what are You reforming in me today?"

Allow His work in you to remain your first priority.

Celebrate Every Victory:
Reformation often happens one faithful step at a time. Celebrate every life touched, every relationship restored, and every opportunity to reflect Christ.

Begin praying by declaring,
“Father, you are HOLY!”

Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in

Pray for God's perfect will to be done in your life.

Give us this day our daily bread...
Tell God what it is that you need. He is our Provider!

And forgive us our debts...
Repent. Lay down your sins before God and ask for forgiveness.

As we also have forgiven our debtors...
List by name those you need to forgive and ask God for help!

And lead us not into temptation...
Grace is a gift we all have access to. Open the gift and accept God's grace to overcome sin.

But deliver us from evil...
Declare, "No spirit but the Holy Spirit" is welcome in your life!

(6) Give God Room to Speak to You

Exodus 33:13b says, “If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you.”

After He speaks to you, ask Him to teach you.

(1) Repeat what you heard God say out loud.
(2) Write down what He says and obey Him.

This is a way we steward God’s words!

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your unwavering faithfulness throughout every season of my life. Time and time again, You have proven Yourself to be my Provider, my Shepherd, my Defender, and my ever-present Help. Even in moments when I could not see what You were doing, You were working for my good and Your glory.

Teach me never to forget Your goodness. Help me to build spiritual altars of remembrance that continually remind me of Your faithfulness. May I remember the prayers You have answered, the promises You have fulfilled, the battles You have fought for me, and the countless ways You have carried me through every season.

Give me spiritual eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart of understanding. Speak, Lord, Your servant is listening. As I remember what You have done, fill my heart with gratitude, awaken fresh worship within me, and strengthen my faith for the days ahead. Let every testimony become another reminder that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Lord, as I look back, give me confidence to move forward. Just as You taught Israel to remember before entering a new season, remind me that the God who has been faithful in the past will remain faithful in the future. May I never lose my wonder at Your goodness or take Your faithfulness for granted.

Thank You for every Ebenezer You have established in my life. Thank You for every encounter, every answered prayer, every moment of grace, and every evidence of Your presence. May my life continually tell the story of Your faithfulness, bringing glory to Your name and encouraging others to trust in You.
