Movement Overview:
You connect with God through movement. When you are physically moving, you are able to remove distractions and thoughts from the day to give God your full attention and affection. You connect with Him best by moving - whether it’s running, walking, dancing, working with your hands, or changing positions during worship.
In movement, you are able to hear God’s voice clearly. You have learned to hear and obey in movement. When you move, you are being led by the Holy Spirit in the simple actions of taking steps, but He also meets with you in this space to lead you into more intimacy through obedience. Movement releases faith and freedom, which opens the door to a childlikeness that gets you into God’s presence.

Some Encouragement For Movement:
Become aware of His Presence when you are moving. When you feel His Presence come, acknowledge it by raising your hands, kneeling, clapping, thanking Him, etc. This is how you are intentional with God during your daily encounters. It’s important for you to discern the difference between connecting with the Lord through movement, and staying busy. A husband and wife can talk while doing the dishes, but there is time set apart for dates where the focus is to be together. Make sure the time you set aside to move is in the pursuit of connecting with God. Don't limit your encounters to just one type of movement. Ask God what movement He wants you to engage in to encounter Him.
- God desires worship from your whole life—not just your words.
- Your posture doesn't earn God's presence, but it can help focus your heart on Him.
- Don't worry about what others think. Worship is always for an audience of One.
- Physical expressions of worship are biblical and should always flow from a sincere heart.
- Every step of obedience can become an act of worship.
- Your daily routines can become sacred when you intentionally offer them to God.
- Sometimes changing your posture helps refocus your heart.
- Worship isn't confined to a church service. Every place can become a place of worship.
- Let your body become an instrument that reflects your love for Christ.

(1) Connect With God Through Movement
Here are some practical ways that you can connect with God.
Lift Your Hands in Worship:
As an expression of surrender, gratitude, and dependence, lift your hands during worship or personal prayer.
Let your posture reflect your heart's desire to receive from and respond to God.
Kneel Before the Lord:
Spend time kneeling in prayer as an expression of humility, reverence, and submission.
Allow your posture to remind you that God alone is King.
Take a Prayer Walk:
Walk through your neighborhood, a park, or your church campus while talking with God.
Invite the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts and prayers as you move.
Bow in Reverence:
During your prayer time, bow your head or kneel in quiet worship, acknowledging God's greatness and your dependence upon Him.
Dance Before the Lord:
If it is natural for you, express your joy through movement. Like David, celebrate God's goodness with freedom and gratitude.
Walk While Memorizing Scripture:
Choose a verse and repeat it as you walk. Allow both your body and your mind to be engaged in God's Word.
Open Your Hands in Prayer:
Pray with your palms open as a symbol of surrender and readiness to receive whatever God desires to do in your life.
Pause and Stand in Awe:
Spend a few moments standing quietly before the Lord without speaking.
Simply acknowledge His presence and worship Him.
Walk Through Your Home in Prayer:
Pray over each room of your home. Pray for your family, your children, your future, and that your home would honor Christ.
Worship While Serving:
Sometimes movement is expressed through serving others.
- Clean.
- Prepare meals.
- Help a neighbor.
- Volunteer.
- Offer your physical labor as worship unto the Lord.
Stretch Out Before the Lord:
There may be moments when you sense the need to lie face down in prayer, expressing complete surrender and dependence upon God.
Take Moments to Pause:
Several times throughout your day, simply stop what you're doing.
Take a deep breath.
Lift your eyes toward heaven.
Acknowledge God's presence before continuing your work.

(3) The Lord's Prayer
A starting guide when praying to God every day!
"Pray then like this: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil."
Matthew 6:9-13
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name...
Begin praying by declaring,
“Father, you are HOLY!”
Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in
heaven...
Pray for God's perfect will to be done in your life.
"God, not my will, but yours!"
Give us this day our daily bread...
Tell God what it is that you need. He is our Provider!
And forgive us our debts...
Repent. Lay down your sins before God and ask for forgiveness.
As we also have forgiven our debtors...
List by name those you need to forgive and ask God for help!
And lead us not into temptation...
Grace is a gift we all have access to. Open the gift and accept God's grace to overcome sin.
But deliver us from evil...
Declare, "No spirit but the Holy Spirit" is welcome in your life!

(8) Close in Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for creating me—body, soul, and spirit—to know You and worship You. Help me to remember that worship is more than words I speak or songs I sing. It is the offering of my entire life to You.
Teach me to worship You with freedom, humility, and sincerity. Whether I lift my hands, kneel in prayer, walk in conversation with You, or serve others with my strength, may every movement become an expression of my love for You. Let my outward posture always reflect the surrender of my heart.
Give me spiritual eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart of understanding. Speak, Lord, Your servant is listening.Make me sensitive to the leading of Your Holy Spirit, and give me the courage to respond with joyful obedience. May I never become distracted by what others think, but keep my focus on honoring You alone.
Lord, let every step I take draw me closer to You. May my hands be quick to serve, my knees willing to bow, my feet ready to follow wherever You lead, and my life become a living sacrifice that brings glory to Your name.
Thank You for inviting me to worship You with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind, and all my strength. May everything I do become an act of worship, reflecting Your goodness and helping others encounter Your presence.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.

A Wellspring Thought:
Movement is more than changing your posture... It is offering your whole self to God.
Whether we lift our hands in surrender, kneel in humility, walk in prayer, or serve with our strength, our bodies become instruments of worship. As our outward expressions align with a heart fully devoted to Christ, we become more aware of His presence and more responsive to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
