Do You Believe that the Most High God Is Sovereign?
Daniel 4:34-37

1. The most high God’s sovereign rule is eternal.

A. Paul used the term “Lord” fifteen times in 2 Timothy. It means “the sovereign one who possesses absolute authority.”

B. Paul looked forward to heaven and the eternal rewards. 2 Timothy 4:6-8

C. Paul believed the Lord Jesus was with him always. 2 Timothy 4:16-18

2. The most high God’s sovereign rule cannot be defeated.

A. An angel of God. Isaiah 36:18-20

B. God‘s response to being mocked. Isaiah 37:33-38

C. Be thankful for God‘s patience. 2 Peter 3:8-10

3. The most high God’s sovereign rule is guided by love according to God‘s purposes and for His glory.

A. The King‘s responses.

B. A believer’s response.

C. God’s wisdom and concern for His people. Isaiah 40:25-28; Romans 11:33-36

Application – Learning to trust, submit, and believe in God’s sovereignty.

1. We must develop an eternal perspective. Hebrews 11:6-16; Romans 10:17

2. We must trust He has sovereign acts of grace for each of us. Ephesians 2:8-10

3. We must believe God is sovereign, and that His purposes are guided by love. Romans 8:28

Membership Class - July 19

There will be a Membership Class right after the service on Sunday, July 19. If you are considering joining Hillside, this is an important part of the process. You'll learn about the church and have an opportunity to dialogue with church leaders. Please email us if you are interested in participating.

Buffalo Bill Days Community Worship Service - July 26

Join us at Parfet Park at 9:00am on Sunday, July 26 for the Buffalo Bill Days Community Worship Service. Be sure to bring lawn chairs, water, and sunscreen!

We will not have a worship service at Hillside that morning. See you at the park!

Baptisms in Clear Creek - August 9

We'll be doing baptisms down at the river on August 9! If you are interested in being baptized, please email Pastor Kevin.

Children's Ministry in July

There will be no Sunday School for during the month of July. Kids from preschool to fifth grade will be staying in the worship service so we can give our Sunday School teachers a well-deserved break. Nursery care will still be available.

Children's Ministry in August

Children’s ministry is actively looking for volunteers to teach 1st-2nd and 3rd-5th grade on Sunday mornings after worship, beginning in August. All supplies are prepared and made ready for you. Contact Tom or Angela Wheaton if you are interested!

Women's Ministry
Women's Ministry is encouraging the women of the church to read the Bible, just a chapter a day, and join the TableTop gathering for discussion the last Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm.

The women's Saturday morning Bible study is taking a break until fall.

Men's Ministry
There is a men’s gathering on the third Thursday of every month. These gatherings provide great opportunities for ment to grow in their relationships with one another and with the Lord.

Young Adults
The Young Adults group serves college students and young professionals. There are several gatherings throughout the month.

Youth Group
Youth Group includes both middle-schoolers and high-schoolers. The group will be meeting at various, pre-announced times during the summer. The Sunday Morning Youth Group will resume in the Fall.

Children's Ministry
Our Children's Ministry serves the kids of Hillside from nursery through fifth grade. We are always on the lookout for servant-hearted people who love kids to help with our Children's Ministry.

Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministers offer one-to-one, Christ-centered, emotional and spiritual care for people in the congregation going through difficult times such as job loss, financial struggles, medical issues, or death of a loved one.

Care Team Ministry
The Care Team Ministry provides transportation for those in need in our Hillside Family.

Prayer Ministry
You can receive prayer in person from 9:30-10:00am Sunday mornings in the cry room adjacent to the church lobby. To submit a prayer request, email the Prayer Team.

The monthly prayer nights will resume in August.

Meals Ministry
The Meals Ministry is a practical way to meet the needs of others in the congregation who are welcoming a new baby or experiencing challenging circumstances.
