Sermon Text: Romans 13:8-10 & 1 Thessalonians 5:12-24
Preparation Question: Are you pursuing holiness because you are trying to keep a rigid set of rules, or because you love the One who wrote the Rulebook?

Response Questions
1. Why does a culture obsessed with personal autonomy find the idea of God’s absolute standards so offensive? How do we sometimes drift into downplaying those standards to make grace look easier?
2. Looking at the Ten Commandments as a covenant framework, how does it shift your perspective to realize that a broken rule is actually a broken relationship?

4. Why is it impossible to maintain "vertical integrity" with God while harboring hidden bitterness or broken "horizontal harmony" with someone in your life?
5. Looking at the daily training rhythms in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks), which of these do you need to actively practice tomorrow morning to keep your mind and heart clear for the fight?
