The Bible teaches us to give the first 10% of our income to the "storehouse." God says we can test Him by doing this and watching Him take care of us in return. This may sound like a stretch to you! Just take a step toward toward that goal. If you currently give nothing, start giving something. If you give something, try increasing it a step toward the 10% goal. Trust God! Give Him your first before anything else by setting up a recurring, automated donation online. You will then receive quarterly updates about how your giving is making a difference and how your donations are being used.
http://www.onelifeknox.com/giveWorld View Focus: Secularism
The Lie of Secularism:
God isn’t necessary.
The Bottom Line Truth: Jesus isn't meant to be part of your life - He's meant to be the center of it.
God isn’t necessary.
The Bottom Line Truth: Jesus isn't meant to be part of your life - He's meant to be the center of it.
1. Secularism puts our faith in man and not God.
2. Secularism makes our faith private instead of public.
3. Secularism takes our eyes off the eternal and focuses them on the temporary.
The Christian Worldview Alternative: God is essential because everything that exists depends on him.
1. How can we be change makers in our communities?
2. Life is short and the mission is too important.
3. Redirect your focus to the creator and not the created.
START TALKING:
When have you thought something was unnecessary - or maybe acted as if it was - only to find out it was far more necessary than you expected or realized?
When have you thought something was unnecessary - or maybe acted as if it was - only to find out it was far more necessary than you expected or realized?
START THINKING:
Read Colossians 1:15-21. According to this passage, what is reliant upon Jesus for its very existence?
Read John 15:5, James 4:13-15, and Revelation 3:17. What do these verses teach and also warn against about the necessity of Jesus in our lives?

START SHARING:
Secularism is a lens we don't even realize we use when we see areas of our lives and don't ask, "What would God want for this?" Instead, we actually live as as a secularist in those areas - as if God isn't necessary for those situations.
If you're honest, what are areas of your life that this lens is actually more predominant than you realize? What areas have you never stopped to consider what God's desire is or would be? What areas have you maybe even consciously decided "God isn't necessary for this"?
Secularism often puts man in the place of God. We trust a relationship to make us happy, a boss or our own work to provide for us, a doctor to do all the healing, or a pastor or teacher to be our only spiritual supply. Where can you see that this lens of "God isn't necessary" has impacted you relying on man, not God, more than you realize?
Read Psalm 118:8, Psalm 146:3, Isaiah 2:22, and Matthew 10:28. Why do you think these verses, and many others, have so much to say about this?

START DOING:
Read Romans 1:25. What can you do this week to catch yourself when you find the lens of "God isn't necessary" leading you more than you want because you are letting the created rather than the Creator be what is necessary to you?
What opportunities will you inevitably have this week to let Jesus be what is most necessary to you when a person or thing lets you down? What can you do to let Jesus be most necessary even when a person or thing seems to be meeting your needs in the moment?
What is one area that you have previously not truly seen God as necessary that you can give to him this week?
As we ask each week, how will this change the way you can share your story of faith with your "one"? Give an example of before - Jesus - after: Before Jesus was necessary to (an area of my life), I was ______. I let Jesus be what is most important when ______. Ever since then, I have experienced _______.

START PRAYING:
Pray for each person in the microchurch to let Jesus be the only one and only thing that is necessary in each area that was shared above. Pray that each of us have an opportunity this week to be intentional with our "one". Pray that we each experience Jesus every single day as we live on mission for him.

We want your experience with Jesus and this community of faith called OneLife to be so much more than an hour on Sundays
Take a Next Step!
Don't just attend church for an hour a week. Take a step! What step should you take?
1. Follow Jesus! If you have followed Jesus...
2. Get baptized! If you are following Jesus, then that's all you need to be "ready" to take this step.
3. Volunteer! Don't simply be a consumer, but be part of making a difference in the lives of those who come to OneLife to experience Jesus. There are weekday and Sunday opportunities. Get info about what opportunities there are for you!
4. Join a micro church! You can't have true community sitting in rows with a large crowd. That's not the church - it's an event! Micro churches are small "churches" of 10-12 adults that meet in homes throughout the week to learn together, pray together, serve the community together, and care for each other together.
Get more information about any of the above, send us your prayer requests so we can pray with you, or ask any question we can help you with by filling out the online connection card!
