What is Persecution?
• Occurs whenever a believer is denied the protection of religious freedom, prevented from converting to Christianity because of legal or social threats, physically attacked or killed because of their faith, forced to leave their job or home because of the threat of violence, or imprisoned and interrogated for refusing to deny their faith.

• The goal of persecution is not to make you weak, but anava (meek) — powerful but submitted.
3 Ways How to Respond to Persecution
1. Don‘t Be Surprised
Persecution is not a sign something has gone wrong, but a sign something has gone right.
When we’re persecuted, we’re more like Jesus!
Two Types of Questions
1. Wrong: Why is this happening To me?
2. Right: Am I close enough to Jesus that what happened to Him is happening to me?

Never be ashamed to stand up for the cause of Christ.
Persecution & Pressure:
Persecution inevitably brings tzara (pressure). Pressure was never punishment but it was formation.
