True freedom is not having a master but belonging to the right master.

The trouble is that unrestrained freedom might be a new kind of bondage.

Therefore, freedom is not the ability to do anything we want but the ability to live according to God's design and our true nature.

What the world calls freedom will lead to bondage, but surrender to Christ is freedom.

Secular Perspective:
- Freedom is the ability to do what I want
-Freedom means autonomy, no external constraints, and self-rule
-Identity is self-defined
-The highest authority is the individual self
-Freedom is expressed through self-expression
-Bondage is seen primarily as political, economic, or social oppression
-The goal is personal fulfillment

Kingdom of God Perspective:
-Freedom is the ability to do what God created me to do
-Freedom is being free from the power of sin by living under God's loving rule
-Identity is God-given
-The highest authority is God
-Freedom is expressed through obedience and discipleship
-Bondage is primarily spiritual slavery to the expressions of sin
-The goal is glorifying God and flourishing in His purposes

True freedom is not found in having no master, but in having the proper master. Because in the end "you're going to serve somebody."

For if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. Amen.
