Worship and the glory of God
Come to worship asking:
1. Does my worship direct attention and glory toward God, or toward myself or the created?
2. Are my choices in worship helping the gathered community fix their eyes on Christ, or create distraction, confusion, or dishonor?
1. Does my worship direct attention and glory toward God, or toward myself or the created?
2. Are my choices in worship helping the gathered community fix their eyes on Christ, or create distraction, confusion, or dishonor?
Key Theme:
Because worship and glory belong to God, true worship must be centered and focused on Him alone – all eyes, hearts, and minds fixed on Him.
Key Application:
Evaluate and avoid any activity, from song to dress, that is about personal preference, self-expression, or bringing attention to self and man.
Key Verses:
1 Corinthians 11:7 “For a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of man.”
Key Questions:
1. In what ways can worship subtly become centered on us rather than God?
2. How should Christians think about cultural practices and traditions in worship today?
3. What might look different if we all gathered to worship with the mindset of helping others fix their eyes on Christ?

Church family, we praise God for how faithfully in so many respects you give. Our church family is undeniably generous, but we still have great needs for supplication. We ask that you give joyfully, faithfully and sacrificially in response to how our great God and Savior has given to us.
