A King for the Kingless—Royal Psalms
Psalm 21
Royal Psalms like Psalm 21 present a challenge for modern readers due to chronological and cultural distance, but by acknowledging that distance (understanding the psalm in its historical context) and then thoughtfully applying it, we are shown deep value: reminded that we live in this earthly kingdom, long for the heavenly kingdom, and that we are children of the King.
