Acts 17:31 EXB
Because God has set a day that he will judge all the world with fairness by the man he chose long ago. And God has proved this to everyone by raising that man from the dead!

• God is holy.
• Sin matters.
• Eternity is real.
• Jesus is the only Savior.

The issue will never be:
Did I know God?

The issue will be (for believers):
What did we do with Jesus and the plan He had for our lives?

2 Corinthians 5:9–11 EXB
Our only goal is to please God whether we live here or there, because we must all stand before Christ to be judged. Each of us will receive what we should get—good or bad— for the things we did in the earthly body. Since we know what it means to fear the Lord, we try to persuade people. God knows what we really are, and I hope that in your hearts you know, too.

• Stewardship
• Purpose

Every prayer, every act of obedience, every soul reached, every unseen sacrifice for God, Heaven remembers.

Earth rewards popularity. Heaven rewards faithfulness.

2 Peter 3:9-12 EXB
The Lord is not slow [or late] in doing what he promised—the way some people understand slowness [lateness]. But God is being patient with you. He does not want anyone to be lost [perish], but he wants all people to change their hearts and lives [come to repentance]. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief [with surprise and danger]. The skies [heavens] will disappear [pass away; with a loud noise. Everything in them [The elements; either everything in the cosmos or specifically the heavenly bodies] will be destroyed [or dissolved] by fire [heat; burning], and the earth and everything in it [or all the deeds done on it] will be exposed. In that way everything will be destroyed [or-dissolved]. So what kind of people should you be? You should live holy lives and serve God [be godly/pious], as you wait for and look forward to [strive for; or hurry; hasten] the coming of the day of God. When that day comes, the skies [or heavens] will be destroyed [or-dissolved] with fire, and everything in them [the elements; will melt with heat [fire; burning].

• How we treat people
• How we spend money
• What we watch
• What we pursue
• How we serve
• How seriously we walk with God

Living ready means:
• Living awake
• Living surrendered
• Living intentionally
• Living with eternity in mind

• We build families.
• We disciple people.
• We grow the Church.
• We act justly and walk humbly.

Lord, help us live with eternity in mind. Help us not waste our lives on things that will not matter forever.

What to be aware of:
• Let the reality of eternity wake us up.
• Let the reality of judgment move us toward repentance.
• Let the reality of Heaven move us toward holy living.
