SCRIPTURE
Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, submit yourselves to your own husband as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church… Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her… In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church… Each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Fathers, do not exasperate your children. Instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. The Fall of Man has compromised our roles within marriage and family.
Husbands who do not lead are often passive or abusive.
“And you will desire to control your husband, but he will rule over you.” Genesis 3:16

No other figure in history has elevated the value of women like Jesus!
A husband has unique role and responsibilities.
Husbands are to lead the home.
Sometimes this means giving direction, other times this means delegation.
Husbands are to provide.
When God says, “man will work by the sweat of his brow,” it doesn’t necessarily mean the work will be hard. It means a man will be anxious to provide for his family.

Men have a chemical called vasopressin, which is a protective-aggressive hormone.
Husbands are to love their wives and children.
This love requires death. Death to my selfishness, hobbies, preferences, and so on.

Not made out of his head to rule over him, nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be beloved.
