Our Story Part 2

Our Story Part 2

Everybody is looking for a place to belong. A place where they can be known, loved, and discover that their life matters. Over the next four weeks, we're pulling back the curtain on the story of Real Life Church—not because our story is special, but because it points to the God who writes incredible stories through ordinary people. Whether you've been here for years or you're walking through our doors for the very first time, this series is an invitation. An invitation to see where we've come from, what God has done, and how He might be weaving your story into something bigger than you ever imagined. Because this isn't just our story. It's not just your story. It's God's story.

Message Description:
What if your purpose is bigger than you think?

Jesus never called ordinary people to simply attend church—He called them go out and make disciples in the world. This week, we'll unpack the Great Commission and discover how God uses everyday people to make an eternal impact right where they live, work, learn, and play.

Whether you're a teacher, student, business owner, parent, retiree, or simply someone wondering what God wants to do with your life, you'll learn practical ways to influence the people already around you, build meaningful relationships, and become part of something bigger than yourself.

You'll also get a glimpse of the exciting vision God is unfolding through Belton Cinema 8—not just as a future worship center, but as a launching pad for disciple-makers, leaders, families, and everyday people who are saying, "Here am I, send me.”

If you've ever wondered, "Why did God bring us together?" or "What is my purpose?" this message is for you.

Come discover how your story fits into God's Grand Story.

Key words: Church, Unity, Community, Mission, Together
Why did God bring US together?
The Great Commission was not given to perfect disciples. It was given to hesitant disciples wavering during their worship.
HOW DO WE MAKE DISCIPLES?
Step 1: Steward every relationship as a Disciple Making Relationship!
Step 2: RL We find ways to Cross Lines
The gospel crosses every line that normally separates us—race, politics, income, background, age, education, customer, generational history and culture.
Strategies to Cross Lines:
1. Host a Life Group at your house in the community.
2. Take Soul responsibility for you Block.
3. Use you Business are Disciple Making Platform
4. Use your gamer chat and group as a disciple making place.
Be Sent together on the same mission.
Step 3. BE COMMISSIONED!
Empowering People:
We build ceilings instead of floors

We believe the mission of Jesus is so important that we don’t control what God is doing rather we surround ourselves by gifted people and give them full access to equip and release them into what God is already doing.

We believe this so much that we married leadership to our discipleship process. We don’t just want you to learn, we want you to stand on our shoulders and lead the way.

We partner with the often times overlooked gifts and talents of people to help lead our church. We are a church building the next generation disciple makers.
Talk it Over

1. Worshiping While Wavering
Read: Matthew 28:16-20
The disciples worshiped Jesus, yet some still doubted. They weren't unbelieving—they were hesitant, uncertain, and still processing what God was doing.
- Have you ever felt called by God while simultaneously feeling unqualified or uncertain?
- What fears, doubts, or insecurities tend to hold you back from stepping into God's mission?
- How does it encourage you to know that Jesus entrusted His mission to imperfect people?

2. Discovering Your Why
The message asked the question: "Why did God bring us together?"
- When you think about your relationship with Jesus, what do you believe God has uniquely created you to contribute to His Kingdom?
- Have you ever experienced a season where you felt disconnected from your purpose? What helped you reconnect?
- What excites you most about being part of something bigger than yourself?

3. Stewarding the Relationships Right in Front of Us
Disciple-making often begins with the people God has already placed in our lives.
- Who are the people you interact with regularly that God may be inviting you to influence spiritually?
- Which relationship feels most natural for disciple-making? Which feels most difficult?
- How might your perspective change if you viewed every relationship as a potential disciple-making relationship?

4. From Attendance to Disciple-Making
The message challenged us not to become fixated on "going somewhere" but on "making disciples" wherever we are.
- When you hear the phrase "make disciples," what emotions come to mind?
- What is the difference between attending church and actively participating in Jesus' mission?
- Who helped you grow spiritually, and what specifically did they do that impacted your life?

5. Crossing Lines with the Gospel
Jesus called His followers to make disciples of all nations and all people groups.
- Are there people or groups you naturally connect with? Are there people you tend to avoid or overlook?
- What barriers commonly separate people in our community (politics, age, race, income, lifestyle, etc.)?
- What would it look like for you to intentionally cross one of those lines this month?

6. Sent Together
The Great Commission wasn't given to individuals in isolation. It was given to a group of disciples.
- Why do you think Jesus designed His mission to be accomplished in community?
- Where have you experienced the strength of serving Jesus alongside others?
- How can our group help each other live on mission instead of trying to do it alone?

7. Equipped and Released
Read: Ephesians 4:11-12
The role of the church is not simply to gather people but to equip and release them.
- What gifts, passions, or experiences has God given you that could be used to help others follow Jesus?
- Have you ever felt overlooked, underqualified, or unsure if God could use you?
- What might it look like for you to take one step toward using your gifts more intentionally?

8. Here Am I, Send Me
The message ended with a simple prayer: "Here am I, send me."
- What is one area of your life where God may be asking for greater availability?
- If you fully surrendered your time, relationships, talents, and influence to God's mission, what would change?
- What is one practical step you can take this week to help someone move closer to Jesus?

Closing Prayer
Go around the circle and answer this question:
"Who is one person God has placed in my life that I can intentionally pray for, encourage, or invest in this week?"

Pray specifically for courage to move from being consumers of ministry to participants in God's mission, and ask God to help your group become a community that gathers, grows, and scatters together.
