Real Life Church

Our Story
Everybody is looking for a place to belong. A place where they can be known, loved, and discover that their life matters. Over the next four weeks, we're pulling back the curtain on the story of Real Life Church—not because our story is special, but because it points to the God who writes incredible stories through ordinary people. Whether you've been here for years or you're walking through our doors for the very first time, this series is an invitation. An invitation to see where we've come from, what God has done, and how He might be weaving your story into something bigger than you ever imagined. Because this isn't just our story. It's not just your story. It's God's story.

NEW TO REAL LIFE?
Have you ever wondered how a group of complete strangers becomes family?
This weekend, we're celebrating where God has brought us from—from early days and impossible prayers to changed lives, deep friendships, and a future bigger than we ever dreamed. Through honest stories of grace, failure, healing, and God's faithfulness, we'll discover that what unites us isn't perfection—it's Jesus.
If you've ever been hurt by church, felt like you didn't belong, or wondered if God could still use your story, this message is for you.
Come discover how God takes ordinary people, weaves their lives together, and invites all of us into the incredible story He's still writing.
Key words: Church, Unity, Community, Mission, Together
1. Our Stories Matter
Take a few minutes and share a part of your faith story. What brought you to this group or to Real Life? Was there a person, a moment, or a season that God used to get your attention?
Read: Philippians 1:3-6
Follow Up:
- Looking back, where can you see that God was working before you even realized it?
- What part of your story are you most grateful for today?
2. Conviction or Condemnation?
Read: Romans 8:1-2 and Romans 2:4.
The message talked about the difference between conviction and condemnation.
- Have you ever experienced church or religion in a way that made you feel condemned instead of loved?
- What helped (or could help) you rediscover God's kindness and grace?
- Is there an area where God may be gently inviting you toward freedom instead of shame?
Take a moment to pray for one another before moving on.
3. Finding Your People
Read: Proverbs 18:24.
"A friend who sticks closer than a brother."
- When have you felt most connected to other believers?
- What keeps people from moving beyond attending church into genuine community?
- Which is harder for you: letting people know the real you, or taking the first step toward someone else?
What would it look like for this group to become that kind of friendship?
4. God Weaves Stories Together
The message reminded us that many of the closest friendships at Real Life began with complete strangers whose paths God crossed.
- Has God ever brought someone into your life at just the right moment?
- Who has played a significant role in helping you follow Jesus?
- Is there someone God may be asking you to invest in right now?
5. Living on Mission Together
Read: 1 Thessalonians 2:8.
"...we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well."
- Why do you think Paul connected sharing the gospel with sharing his life?
- How could our group become more intentional about serving, encouraging, and reaching others together?
6. Joining God's Bigger Story
The message ended with the idea that this isn't just "our story" or "your story"—it's God's story.
- Where do you sense God inviting you into something bigger than yourself?
- What is one fear or obstacle that keeps you from stepping fully into that calling?
- How can this group help you take that next step?
Close by praying —that your Life Group would experience deeper community, greater joy, and courage to live on mission with others.
