A. When God gives you anything, the thing He gives us must produce.
1. God’s gift from slavery was sabbath.
2. The way God undoes what slavery has done is by giving us the very thing slavery robs us of; REST!
B. There is no greater accomplishment than to become a person of love.
C. The thing that formed you into slaves was PRESSURE!
I. FORMED BY PRESSURE
A. They had become slaves because the pressure of work was placed on them!
II. ISRAEL’S FORMATION INTO SLAVES
A. Sabbath is the space God created for you to take the pressures off.
1. Feeling guilty doing nothing.
2. Feeling annoyed because some is doing nothing.
3. Feeling like, it just never stops.
2. Feeling annoyed because some is doing nothing.
3. Feeling like, it just never stops.
II. FORM BY EXTERMAL PRESSURES
B. It was Pharaoh’s plan to enslave them!
C. Neither you nor they choose this, it was decided for you by someone.
1. He assigned a presence over their work to take it from providing from themselves to being enslaved.
2. The presence was to ensure you would never have enough.
3. If the enemy can keep you pursuing something you can never obtain, you’ll become trapped trying to fulfill a need that is never satisfied.
III. FORMED BY INTERNAL PRESSURES
A. His presence and their presence are here to meet your presence.
B. The moment you take on the identity of a slave, a task master is no longer needed to keep the pressure; you’ll do it to yourself.
C. There is a voice on the inside of you that won’t let you stop.
The voice tells you:
a. If you don’t do it, everything will fall apart.
b. Your value is connected to what do, for people.
c. Doing nothing means you don’t have a purpose.
d. This is about you being enough! You have something to prove.
e. You believe you have to choose between spending time with God and taking care of your needs.

When we sabbath it is because we recognize that our presence is need more than our performance. God needs your presence, your family needs your presence, those close to you need your presence.
