When was the last time our hearts burned within us when it comes to the Word of God?
Why do we struggle to have a passion for the Word?
Why is it neglected day after day & week after week?

We need a passion like King David had for the Word of God…
- Known as a Man after God’s own Heart
- Wrote the Longest Chapter in the Bible (Psalm 119)
- That Chapter is all about his trust and love in the Word of God
Conclusion: To be a man after God’s own heart… We must know and love His Word!

In order for us to draw closer to God and know Him more, we must have a passion for His Word.
There are 4 steps we can take to ignite a fire in our hearts for the Word of God.
1)Recognize it.
Passion comes when you see the value in something…
Do we really recognize what the Bible is and its value?
- It is THE WORD OF GOD!
- Its value is equal to the Lord's Name!

God's Word won't return void!
2)Explore it.
You cannot be an overcomer in today’s world by being a verse a day Christian!
You have to read His Word Daily!
You have to read His Word Daily!
You have to meditate on God's Word
You have to write it on your heart!
Good intents and wishful thinking get’s you no where… You need to make a plan!
Write it down… Commit to it… Share with others for accountability.
Make reading, meditating, and memorizing God’s word a daily part of your life!

3)Believe it.
Really Believe it!

As you read the Word… You have a choice… Believe or Disbelieve…
Only when you truly believe it will it work in you!
Trust in His Word!

4)Don’t Reject it.
There are many difficult truths in Scripture…
Just because it is hard to swallow, or difficult to understand, Don’t reject it!

Prayer:
“God, give us a hunger for your word! Let our hearts burn within us while we explore it, and believe it!”

SALVATION:
Today there may be a few of you that do not have a relationship with Jesus… But today as we read the Word of God… Your heart burned within you…
Christ is calling you into a relationship with you. He wants to show you a new life… The life you were designed and created for. He wants to save you from your sins and give you eternal life… Will you Respond to Him today?
Ask Christ to forgive you of your sins and to come into your life. Surrender your life to His Word. Get into a Bible believing and teaching Church (Like Living Hope Church)
