Two themes found in James Chapter 2:
Don't show favoritism.
Do put your faith into action.
Don't show favoritism.
Do put your faith into action.
1. FAITH WITHOUT ACTION IS ALREADY DEAD.
Works don't save you - they SHOW that you are saved.
Three Clarifying Statements about Works:
- Works don't save you. They are proof that you are saved.
- Works don't put you in greater favor with God. They demonstrate you already have His favor.
- Works don't earn anything. They express everything: who you are, what you believe, and who you belong to.

2. EVEN DEMONS HAVE DOCTRINE, BUT DOCTRINE ALONE ISN'T ENOUGH.
Demons Believe:
- They believe in one God (James 2:19).
- They believe in Jesus's divine Sonship (Mark 3:11).
- They believe in eternal punishment (Luke 8:31).
- They believe in Jesus as Judge (Mark 5:7).

- They believe in Jesus's divine Sonship (Mark 3:11).
- They believe in eternal punishment (Luke 8:31).
- They believe in Jesus as Judge (Mark 5:7).
The difference between a demon and a disciple is not what they know; it's what they do with what they know.
3. LIVING FAITH HAS A TRACK RECORD AND SO SHOULD YOURS.
Three Questions to Ask Yourself:
1. Where in your life are you using the right words but not taking any action?
2. Is there someone in your life right now (a friend, a neighbor, a colleague) whose practical need you have noticed but not addressed?
3. If your faith were on trial and your behavior were the evidence, would there be enough to convict you?

Faith is what you believe and it proves itself by how you behave.
