Maturity matters: Disciples of Jesus Christ are to grow to maturity. One of the key distinctives of maturity is a clear focus on the will and ways of God. In this life we can be double-minded, conflicted in thought and action. The way of Jesus is not conflicted, it is single-minded devotion.

Life Group Questions | May 17, 2026
This Life Group season runs from April 12-May 30, 2026.

Maturity as a believer is a lifelong process. This week we heard from Ephesians 4:11-16. Paul has a similar train of thought in Romans 12. Go ahead and read Romans 12 together.

1) Verse 2 has a contrast between conforming and being transformed. What is the difference between these two concepts? Why is it important to have a transformed mind?

2) As you scan this chapter, how does Paul illustrate the character of a renewed mind? What does such a mind look like and do?.

3) How does being transformed by renewing your mind help you know God's desire for you and for his world?

4) The contrast in this passage is living truthfully vs. living falsely. Many people live lives that are ungodly and are thus deceived. What are some ways people live falsely that can look a lot like the real thing?

5) Romans 12:9 calls us to hate what is evil and cling to what is good. What are some practical ways to live this way as a follower of Jesus?

6) How have you experienced God personally renewing your mind? What effect has this had on your relationship with God and others?

This is a great time to consider how your group might engage in a service project sometime in the next couple of months.
