SCRIPTURE
“Our ancestors carried the Tabernacle with them through the wilderness. It was constructed according to the plan God had shown to Moses.” Acts 7:44
(The Tabernacle) was only a copy of the true one in heaven. Hebrews 9:24
Jesus fulfilled the Tabernacle, but it gives us a glimpse into God’s view of worship.
SEVEN OBSERVATIONS
1/ There is a desire God has to dwell among His people.
“Have the people of Israel build Me a holy sanctuary so I can live among them.” Exodus 25:8
2/ There is a sacrifice required before entering into worship.
Brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. Hebrews 10:19
3/ There is a preparation before worship.
Exodus 28
We prepare outside.
Sing to Him a new song. Play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts. Psalm 33:3
We prepare inside.
Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup.
1 Corinthians 11:28
4/ There is a pattern in worship.
Leviticus 1-7 and Psalm 100
We acknowledge who we are.
Know that the Lord, He is God! It is He who made us, and we are His. We are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
We acknowledge what He has done.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise! Give thanks to Him. Bless His name!
We acknowledge who He is.
For the Lord is good. His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.
5/ There are various forms of worship.

Speaking (Psalm 34) Shouting (Psalm 89)
Singing (Ephesians 5) Bowing (Psalm 95)
Dancing (Psalm 149) Instruments (Psalm 149)
Flags (Psalm 20) Clapping (Psalm 47)
Lifting Hands (Psalm 63) Silence (Habakkuk 2)
Choirs (1 Chronicles 15) Living (Romans 12)
In the Old Testament, people sacrificed their livestock. In the New Testament, people sacrificed their safety. In Modern Times, people must sacrifice their pride.

6/ There are purposes in worship.
Leviticus 1-7
We worship to exalt Christ.
We worship to encounter Christ.
Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. Exodus 40:34
7/ There is an open door to worship.
The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. Mark 15:38
So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. Hebrews 4:16
