Big idea: Get ready for God to show up.

1) Live a life of contemplation.

Hebrews 4:9,10, So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, 10 for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.

- Enter into God’s rest by faith.
Romans 3:28, For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.

- Live a “quiet” life before the Lord.
I Timothy 2:2, …That we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.

- Meditate on the things of God.
Psalm 63:6, On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night.

- The enemy of contemplation is distraction.

2) Live a life of expectation.

Daniel 2:21, He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings…

Mark 13:35-37, “Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning— 36 lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. 37 And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake.”

Philippians 1:6, I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
