In 1 Corinthians, Paul is writing to correct the believers wrongs thoughts and wrong actions as a loving, caring father would correct his own children.

In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul correcting misguided thoughts regarding the resurrection.
Paul tells them they are right and wrong:
------------
- Right in that our current bodies aren’t suitable for the life to come.
- Wrong in that we will not be disembodied floating souls forever.

In reality, we will receive new resurrected bodies suitable for the new heaven and earth because God isn’t discarding creation, He’s redeeming it. The perishable will be raised imperishable
Our desires for truth, victory and hope are available and attainable in and through the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ.
1. We All Desire TRUTH
------------
1 Corinthians 15:13-16: Paul's point is that He doesn't want them to live a lie.
If you disprove the resurrection you dismantle Christianity.
Resurrection is Real
Christ Died: Disputes the claim that he merely swooned.

He was Buried: Renders implausible the views that the disciples stole his body.

He Appeared: The sheer number of witnesses and numerous occasions rule out mistaken identity or mass hallucination.

This isn’t philosophy, it’s public history.
2. We All Desire VICTORY
------------
As fun as it is to win in sports, Jesus’ victory over sin and death through His resurrection is even sweeter.
Without Jesus’ resurrection and your faith in Him, you are defeated, enslaved and dead in your sins.
No Resurrection = Sin wins.
Epicurean Ideology:
------------
Not excess. Not just sheer gluttony and drunkenness. It was seeking the “good life.”
Snap out of it, Satan is a con-artist, and he’s playing the long game. Like a deer feeder full of corn, beware.
Good news, there is victory in Jesus and freedom form sin through His resurrection.
3. We All Desire HOPE
------------
How do we deal with and think about the decay, deterioration and death of our bodies? Is there any hope in getting old, aging and breaking down?
Paul compares our bodily breakdown and death to that of a seed sown into the ground and our bodily resurrection to a plant sprouting up – “By being buried in the ground, the seed seemingly dies, and it certainly decomposes. Yet on that very spot new life emerges, totally different in appearance from the seed, and yet somehow the mature plant remains the same living entity.”

Without hope you, you’re just left to cope.

Hope for the future gives us perspective in the present - this isn’t all there is. Do the best you can, with what you have, but for the believer in Christ, better is coming.
“The resurrection transforms death from a ‘cliff’ into a ‘bridge’.”
- C.S. Lewis
Jesus says to Martha, "Everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?"

Jesus ask you the same question today…Do you believe?
If yes, then rejoice.
If no, then receive salvation.

Some of you might have believed in vain.
Did you believe in vain? You believed without careful consideration, believed in an emotion, believed in wrong information or believed but didn't stand firm and hold fast in your faith.

“The power of deceit lies in how close something can come to the truth."

"Discernment is the ability to tell between what is true and what is almost true."

Have you truly believed, completely trusted, or have your almost fully believed, almost completely trusted?
What is God inviting you to do today?
- Repent of your sin?
- Receive salvation?
- Rejoice in the resurrection?

Please respond to the prompting of the Holy Spirit in your life. Do what God is nudging you to do.
