Your Sacred Year - Week 10 - When Heaven Meets Earth

Your Sacred Year - Week 10 - When Heaven Meets Earth

Your Sacred Year is a discipleship journey through the story of Scripture, inviting us to slow down, listen, and center our lives on God. Over 52 weeks, we will walk through 52 essential chapters of the Bible, discovering who God is, who we are, and how we are invited to live. This is more than a sermon series. It is an invitation to let God shape our faith, form our lives, and lead us into a year that is set apart, purposeful, and deeply rooted in him.

hey
These questions are here to help you lead a great small group. Whether you meet at home, at work, or at church, use this simple practice:
E – Encourage
Focus on encouraging each other. Start with a win or something good.
S – Scripture
Read the passage from Sunday out loud. Let it lead the way.
P – Pray
Use the discussion questions. End by praying together.
N – Next Step
Look for one way to help each other take a next step with Jesus.
You do not need to know it all. Just show up, stay open, and trust that God will move.
If you could sit down and ask one question to any leader in history, who would it be and what would you ask?

Think about a place that feels meaningful or special to you (a home, church, park, or city). What makes that place significant to you?

Read 1 Kings 8 together.

Solomon built the temple as a place where people could gather to worship and meet with God. What is a place in your life where you feel especially close to God or spiritually refreshed?

In 1 Kings 8, Solomon reminds the people that God keeps His promises (1 Kings 8:15–21). What is one promise from Scripture that has encouraged you in your life or faith?

When the Ark was brought into the temple, the glory of the Lord filled the house (1 Kings 8:10–11). What do you think it means today to live with reverence or the “fear of the Lord”?

Solomon repeatedly prays, “Hear from heaven” (1 Kings 8:29–30). What helps you stay consistent in prayer, and what tends to distract or discourage you from praying?

The people responded to God’s presence with generous sacrifice (1 Kings 8:62–64). What might it look like in your life this week to respond to God with generosity, surrender, or worship?
