When you pray, remember Who you’re talking to.
WHEN YOU PRAY.
1. Put God FIRST.
a. Put God’s NAME first.
-Thank God for WHAT HE HAS DONE.
-Make a list of the ATTRIBUTES OF GOD.
-Read SCRIPTURE to the Lord. (Psalm 103, 121, 139, 145)
b. Put God’s KINGDOM first.
Mission: to help people find and follow Jesus.
c. Put God’s WILL first.
2. TRUST GOD with everything.
a. Trust God with your NEEDS.
b. Trust God with your FORGIVENESS.
-God forgives RIGHT AWAY.
-God forgives ALL THE WAY.
-God forgives in a RECURRING WAY.
c. Trust God with your PROTECTION.
-The world: CULTURAL PRESSURE.
-The flesh: OLD HABITS and SINFUL DESIRES.
-The devil: DECEPTION and OPPORTUNITY.
NEXT STEPS:
1. Start a daily prayer habit and put God first.
2. Write down one area where you will trust God.
3. When temptation comes, pray, “God show me a way out,” and take it.
4. Pray for His Kingdom by praying for one person.
