Weekly Sermon Overview:
For the second week of Lent, we are going to continue our sermon series, The Mosaic of Grace, Why Did Jesus Have to Die. This week we are talking about a theory that is familiar to us called Penal Substitution. Basically, this theory says, God sent Jesus to suffer the penalty for sin on our behalf, as our substitute. If you are like me, this explanation never felt right to me. It did not seem to go along with the message of God’s grace. This week we will dive into that theory as well as Sacrificial Offering and see where we can find the loving expression of God’s grace.
