The Text In Context
1. Recap of previous weeks.
2. The Man Born Blind
3. Man Born Blind and Man by the Pool
4. Understanding
5. Following Jesus
1. Read John 9:1-41 again.
2. Read John 5:1-18 again.
3. Compare and contrast the two stories.
1. Compare and contrast the ideas of physical blindness and spiritual blindness in John 9. What verses highlight these themes?
2. When comparing John 5:1-18 with John 9, what conclusions can be made about sin and suffering? (Keep in mind that in John, "Sinning" is regularly connected to unbelief.)
3. Compare how the Pharisees, the blind man and his parents respond to the miracle. What do their responses reveal about Jesus' identity?
4. How are the responses from the Man Born Blind and the Man by the Pool different? How are they similar?
5. What does the blind man's miraculous journey teach us about the faith process?
6. What is the gospel of John trying to teach us through this story?
1. I Will Follow by Chris Tomlin, Jason Ingram & Reuben Morgan

At StoneBridge, our desire is for everyone who attends worship to receive a warm welcome and leave with a good first impression. If you can smile and say, "Hello!" then you're training's half complete. And if, once a month, you're able to show up 20 minutes before the service, then you're more than qualified. Email devinburns@sbcglobal.net to join the team that makes a difference!
