Upcoming Events at The River
February 15 - River Youth Breakout & Build Night
Breakout & Build is a night created for both middle school and high school students to come together — and then intentionally grow within their own stage of life. Potluck Style Night! 6:00 - 9:00 PM
Bring a food or dessert dish to share — snacks, drinks, desserts, or anything fun! We’ll start the night all together with food, fun, and fellowship. Then we’ll break out into middle school and high school groups so each group can spend focused time together through games, worship, teaching, and real conversations.
February 18 - Toddler Open Play!
On the first and third Wednesday morning of each month, our Toddler and Nursery classrooms will be available for drop-in style play, fellowship, and fun! Invite friends and neighbors to join you and your kids for some play at church! This is a non-staffed, parent stay style program. When you arrive at The River for open play, simply enter the "West Entrance" doors, ring the doorbell, and a staff member will let you in!
February 21 - Winter Jam 2026
Join us for Winter Jam 2026, Christian music's biggest annual tour, Saturday, February 21 at the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati! Best of all, no ticket is required - Just a $15 donation at the door. Students attending will meet at The River Church at 3:30 and chaperones will carpool to the event. During our time there, we will be helping however we can — sorting food, stocking shelves, cleaning, and serving in any way that is needed. It’s a great opportunity to serve our community and be the hands and feet of Jesus together! We will meet at the church at 12:15 to carpool, students will return to church around 2:30 pm.

POINT 2
TURNING THE OTHER CHEEK IS ABOUT DIGNIFIED RESTRAINT, NOT PASSIVE WEAKNESS
TURNING THE OTHER CHEEK IS ABOUT DIGNIFIED RESTRAINT, NOT PASSIVE WEAKNESS
Turning the other cheek means refusing to let someone else determine your behavior.
POINT 3
TURNING THE OTHER CHEEK REQUIRES TRUSTING GOD WITH JUSTICE

RUTH
Big Idea- Main Point
The World teaches Worldly retaliation.
Jesus teaches KINGDOM transformation
The World teaches Worldly retaliation.
Jesus teaches KINGDOM transformation
Offense is inevitable.
Bitterness is optional.
Bitterness is optional.
POINT 4
JESUS HIMSELF LIVED THIS OUT
JESUS HIMSELF LIVED THIS OUT
Jesus absorbed the ultimate offense… so we could receive ultimate forgiveness.
POINT 5
“GIVE THEM YOUR CLOAK TOO”
(Radical Generosity Over Defensive Protection)
“GIVE THEM YOUR CLOAK TOO”
(Radical Generosity Over Defensive Protection)
The Kingdom of God is not built by clinging…
It is built by releasing.
It is built by releasing.
POINT 6
“GO THE EXTRA MILE”
(Unexpected Grace)
“GO THE EXTRA MILE”
(Unexpected Grace)
Kingdom love is seen most clearly when grace becomes voluntary.
POINT 7
“GIVE TO THOSE WHO ASK”
(Open-Handed Living)
“GIVE TO THOSE WHO ASK”
(Open-Handed Living)
Kingdom people choose love over retaliation.
1.Who has hurt you recently?
2.Where are you tempted to retaliate?
3.What would it look like to reflect Jesus instead?
2.Where are you tempted to retaliate?
3.What would it look like to reflect Jesus instead?
Because the world understands revenge.
But the world NOTICES grace.
But the world NOTICES grace.
