Thus, the “last days” does not tell us about how much time we have left but about the kind of time we are in. To say we are in the “last days” means that we live in the world’s last period of time (however long that lasts) before Jesus returns. The language of this verse means that we live in a very privileged time. This should give us a sense of urgency… God has spoken the final word in Christ, and it is time for us to respond. And so this is a time not to put our feet up but to spread the gospel faithfully.
