How valuable is Jesus to you?
TALK IT OVER
Start talking.
• What’s something you once thought was extremely valuable, but later realized wasn’t as important as you thought?
• If you had to name one thing people assume you value most based on how you live, what would it be?
Start thinking:
• What similarities do you see between the man who finds the treasure and the merchant who finds the pearl?
• Why do you think Jesus emphasizes that both men sold everything they had?
• What does Jesus seem to be saying about the true value of the Kingdom of God?
• What does this parable suggest about the difference between knowing about the Kingdom and truly recognizing its value?
Start Sharing:
• When you think honestly about your life, what evidence points to what you value most?
• How do your time, money, and energy reveal what matters most to you right now?
• Is there anything in your life that competes with Jesus for first place? How do you see that showing up?
Start Praying:
• Where do you need help seeing Jesus as your greatest treasure?
• What would you like God to help you release so you can pursue Him more freely?
Heavenly Father, Thank You for the immeasurable gift of Your Kingdom. Open my eyes to see that Christ is the treasure, worth more than anything I currently possess. Give me the joy and courage to let go of earthly attachments, distractions, and idols that hinder my pursuit of You. Help me to live with a clear vision of eternity, eagerly seeking Your righteousness. Lord, cleanse my heart and mind of all that is not of You, that I may shine like the sun in Your Kingdom. I surrender my everything to follow You, trusting that in You, I have found everything I truly need. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
Start Doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week
• What might it look like for you to “sell everything” in a modern, practical sense? Are there things you may need to let go of—or reorder—to pursue Jesus more fully?
• Pray about one concrete step you could take this week to seek God’s Kingdom first and follow through.
