Jehovah Shalom in the New Testament
1. God is called “the God of peace” six times in the NT: Romans 15:33, 16:20, Philippians 4:9, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, Hebrews 13:20, and 2 Thessalonians 3:16.
2. The “Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6) came to do the work of bringing God’s peace to us: Ephesians 2:14-18, Colossians 1:19-20, Romans 5:1-2.
3. Jesus is our peace and offers us peace today in two ways:
i. Peace with God. Our lives are redeemed and made right with Him.
ii. Peace in this troubling world: John 14:27, Philippians 4:6.
