Like Father, Like Son
2 Samuel 13:1-22

David’s sin was reproduced and carried further in his sons, but God sent a greater Son of David—the perfect image of His Father—who now reigns forever in righteousness.

I. Amnon is lured and enticed by his own desire (2 Samuel 13:1-5).
II. Amnon’s desire gives birth to sin (2 Samuel 13:6-14).
III. Amnon’s sin brings forth death (2 Samuel 13:15-22).

Application:
- Amnon’s pattern is true for us as well.
- Our only hope is Christ.

We will gather to celebrate the power of life, share inspiring stories, and support our mission to engage, equip, and empower families. Enjoy an elegant dinner, hear from Dr. Marc Newman, president of Speaker for Life, as well as one of our clients' own story, along with opportunities to make a meaningful impact in our community. Together, we can bring hope to those facing unplanned pregnancies. The event is business/semi-formal dress. If you are interested in attending, please contact Pastor Adam at pastoradamblosser@gmail.com.

Systematic Theology II - Starts Feb. 15

Pastor Adam will be teaching Systematic Theology II on Sunday evenings beginning February 15. About half of the 10-week course will be spent covering the doctrine of man, and the other half of the course will cover the doctrine of salvation. This is the second course in a series of three systematic theology courses, but you do not have to have taken the first course to participate in this one. Our textbook for the course will be Wayne Grudem’s Systematic Theology. You will experience the most benefit from the course if you have a copy of the book and read the chapters being taught that week prior to class. However, reading the chapters is not a requirement for the course. Registration for the course will open soon. When registering, you will have the option of purchasing a copy of Systematic Theology by Wayne Grudem. You can also register for the course without purchasing the book. The charge for the book is $30, and it will be used for all three Systematic Theology courses. There is no charge for the course if you do not want a copy of the book. You can also purchase the book on your own.

Parenting Conference, February 20-21

Puerto Rico Mission Trip, July 6-13

Registration for our 2026 Puerto Rico Mission Trip is now open. You can register in the church app. The trip is July 6-13. We will be serving Iglesia Bautista Castillo Fuerte by doing work on their church property and building to include yard work, pressure washing, painting (inside and out), and light interior construction to prepare classrooms using existing space. We will be working with church planters Christian and Valeria Acevedo and their young church in Gurabo. The cost of the trip is $900. This will include airfare, lodging, ground transportation, and most meals. You will need spending money for purchasing any meals you may need during travel. Financial assistance may be available if needed. If you are unable to go but are interested in providing financial assistance for someone else to go, please contact Pastor Adam. A deposit of $150 is required to secure your spot for the trip so that we can go ahead and purchase airfare. Three remaining payments of $250 each will be due by March 29, April 26, and May 31. Payments should be made by placing your payment in the church offering plate or by turning it in to the church office. Please label all payments as "Puerto Rico Mission trip." If you have questions, please contact Pastor Adam.

Kids Ministry Conference - March 7

SCBV is hosting a Kids Ministry Conference at Swift Creek Baptist Church from 9 am-3:30 pm on March 7. Please contact Laura Bonner if you are interested in joining us!

Easter Egg Hunt, March 28, 2-4 pm

Mark your calendars for our annual Easter Egg Hunt on March 28 from 2-4 pm. There will be a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board for volunteers needed for the event. AWANA Substitutes Needed

Jukebox corner

Have a favorite song or a song we haven’t done in a while? Please feel free to share it with Travis or any member of the Worship team. Whether it’s a hymn, worship song, or just a special piece that speaks to your heart, we would LOVE to hear it. Let us know and we’ll do our best to include it in an upcoming service!

Prayer Requests

One of the groups we offer in the Goshen app is our Prayer Community. We encourage you to join this group and use this tool for your prayer requests. This is an easy and great way to get requests out immediately without having to go through the church office. If you have any questions about the app or how to join one of the groups, please contact the office.

Children’s Ministry Volunteers Needed

The Children’s Ministry is urgently seeking volunteers to help with both Sunday school and Awana programs. These ministries are vital in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children to grow in their faith, but they cannot thrive without the dedication and service of volunteers. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Laura Bonner at (540) 842-1028 or laurabonner511@gmail.com.

Goshen Baptist Church Mobile App
