Sermon Title: We Give and Go Courageously/We are Future Forward

We believe that the Word of God from the Old Testament to the New Testament calls us to GIVE & GO!

GIVE: Proverbs 11:24-25,
“Give freely and become more wealthy;
be stingy and lose everything. The generous will prosper; those
who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.”

Jesus taught us to give:
Luke 6:38, “Give and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full - pressed down, shaken together to make room for more,
running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will
determine the amount you get back.”

Matthew 6:21, “Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.”

GO: Matthew 28:19, “Therefore go and make disciples of all
nations...”

That means that our Faith that is placed in the finished work of
Jesus moves us Forward into the Future!

1. Why we keep moving Forward?:
“12 But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.”

You were not saved to sit. You were saved, you were sanctified, to serve!

2. How do we keep moving Forward?:
“13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past...”

Forgetting in the sense of neglecting, or no longer caring for.

3. How do we keep moving forward?:
“and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”

So what does all that mean for us as a church and for you as a
follower of Jesus?

Say thank you Jesus for the past (Good or Bad)
Stay listening (prayer and Bible study)
Keep moving forward (the revealed will of God, until...)
