Our small groups are a great way to do this. We have groups for all ages and stages of life. They meet at different days and times to help provide an opportunity that can fit your schedule.

Upcoming Events at The River
January 21 - Toddler Open Play
We are excited to begin hosting Toddler Open Play this next year at The River! On the first and third Wednesday morning of each month, our Toddler and Nursery classrooms will be available for drop-in style play, fellowship, and fun! Invite friends and neighbors to join you and your kids for some play at church! This is a non-staffed, parent stay style program. When you arrive at The River for open play, simply enter the "West Entrance" doors, ring the doorbell, and a staff member will let you in!
First Toddler Open play will be January 21 from 9:00 am - noon
January 24 - Youth Service Day
Join us for a powerful day of serving others as our youth group partners with Matthew 25 Ministries on Saturday, January 24th from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM. We will meet at The River Church at 10:15 AM to carpool together and travel as a group. After we are done serving at 1p, we will all go grab some lunch together so please have your student bring some money! We should arrive back at the church around 2:30 PM for pickup!
While there, students (and parents!) will have the opportunity to serve in a variety of hands-on ways, including cleaning, serving meals, stocking supplies, and helping meet real needs in our community.
Parents are more than welcome to serve alongside us! If you’re able to join, we would love to have you. If you cannot attend, please be sure your student is properly registered and prepared.
January 25 - Baptism Sunday
If you are ready to publicly celebrate your commitment to Christ and be baptized in obedience to God, we want to help you do that! Sign up at HitTheRiver.com and someone from The River will be in contact with you soon! Email us with any questions at info@hittheriver.com.
January 28 - Ladies Who Lunch
All women are invited from noon - 1pm to a special edition of our River Ladies Who Lunch 2026 launch! Maybe you weren't able to come often in 2025, are newer to the River and/or want to have some fun meeting other ladies then this event is for you! We also are bringing back the famous "get rid off game" for this event. All you need to do is rsvp on the church app to let us know you are coming. If you haven't attended before email
Don't forget your lunch and if you want to play the game bring something unwrapped (doesn't need to be Christmas themed) that is new/almost new that you don't want. Someone else will! This is a fun event to invite some other ladies in our church or in your circle to join you!
January 29 - River 101 Class
Interested in learning more about The River Church? We will be having our River 101 class here at The River Church on Thursday, January 29th from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. This is a great way to learn what we believe, how we operate, and where we’re heading. February 2 - Ladies Book Club
We will be reading Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. We will meet at El Trompo Mexican restaurant in Monroe for dinner and discussion on February 2nd from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
February 11 - J.O.Y. Group
(Just Older Youth)
We meet at The River from 1:00 - 2:30 pm. This is open to all River attenders, their friends and family. Contact the Pierson's at 607-793-0118 if you plan on attending.
February 14 - Heartfelt Helpers
This year for Valentine's Day, we want to equip our River Kids families to spread the love of Jesus to those that need it most this year! On Sunday, February 8, our River Kids classes will be making handmade Valentine's Day cards and gift baskets for those in our congregation and community who are ill, elderly, or struggling to leave home and on Valentine's Day itself, our River Kids families will deliver them!
Families wishing to help with deliveries on February 14 will stop by The River at 10 AM and pick up the cards and gifts they will be delivering. Families will receive a list of addresses that they will deliver to prior to Valentine's Day so they can be prepared. To help us with this awesome service opportunity, go to HitTheRiver.com.

Ladies 13 and up join us for a fun night of worship and great speakers (Jennie Allen, Francis Chan, Christine Cane, and more). Dress comfy, bring your Bible, a friend, and a snack to share. The event is Friday, February 27th 6:45 - 11:00 pm. The live streamed event begins at 7:00.
For over a decade, IF:Gathering has been about one thing: women gathering to know God and make Him known. This live event in Texas will be streamed right to us here in OHIO at The River! IF:One Night is a moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate what we’re part of: a global family of women who believe God is moving in powerful ways.
