Pastor Joe's Bio
Pastor Joe was born in the little town of Crasna (Romania). Ever since he was a child, he has been fascinated by the unique connection between pastors and their special book, the Bible. When at the age of 7 he received his first little Bible from a brave pastor who was able to procure it for him in spite of the interdictions of the communist regime, he felt special and decided one day he would become a pastor.
After serving as a Pastor for 8 years in Romania, in 2013 he immigrated to the USA. He currently serves as Lead Pastor of Plantation Seventh-day Adventist Church. Along with his wonderful wife Anda and their gorgeous daughter Alessandra, he enjoys proclaiming God’s grace and ministering to his fellows.
Pastor Joe is currently enrolled in a doctoral Program (DMin in Preaching) with Andrews University. His hobbies are languages, music, and poetry.

Revelation 10-11 describe realities that are happening between the 6 th and the 7th trumpet. A mighty angel appears to the Apostle John and he brings a message: there will be time no longer, meaning that the time prophecies of the Book of Daniel have come to an end.
In this dramatized prophecy, John stands for those who live between the 6 th and the 7th trumpet (us!). He receives a little book that he has to eat… than he is given a divine mandate:
You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings.
Then in 11:3 the mighty angel says:

While the Gentiles trample the holy city, Jesus has 2 witnesses that prophecy clothed in sackcloth… Can you imagine someone clothed in sackcloth? Do you know what potato sacks look like? Who wants to wear something like this… it’s itchy.
These 2 witnesses are clothed in sackcloth… they have to witness under very hard circumstances, very uncomfortable… But who are they? Verse 4: 4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth.

In Zachariah 4 there is a verse that you know: Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit… (v. 6) Do you know the context of that verse? The prophet sees a lampstand flanked by 2 olive trees with 2 branches sprouting from the olive trees that channel oil to the lampstand.
Than the angel explains: the 2 olive trees are the 2 anointed ones: Zerubbabel (the governor/king of Judea) and Joshua (the high priest) and This is the backdrop of the 2 witnesses clothed in sackcloth.

In Revelation, Jesus is both priest and king; the 24 elders are priests and kings; the redeemed are priests and kings… The angel tells John: the 2 witnesses are like Zerubbabel and Joshua (kings and priest). They are the 2 olive trees… and the 2 lampstand. They provide light… but they are clothed in sackcloth… Their light is dimmed…
The 2 witnesses are like Moses and Elijah. These 2 OT characters are seen together…where? With Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration… The last verses of the OT (Malachi 4) mention Moses and Elijah in the context of the great and dreadful day of the Lord…
So we have 2 OT backgrounds here: Moses and Elijah are the 2 figures that represent the OT (the Law and the Prophet)… And Joshua and Zerubbabel (priests and kings) – God’s people.

What is the connection between these 2 imageries? The 2 witnesses are both the Written Word of God and the Incarnate Word of God.
Remember: Jesus sent the disciple 2 by two… not only to proclaim, but also to perform the Gospel. I will give power to my witnesses… Not by might, not by power…
But after the 42 months/1260 days, 7 When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit (!) will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them.
And those who dwell on the earth rejoice because the 2 witnesses tormented them…

In Bible prophecy, a beast is a power… that’s why many have identified this power with atheist France that during the French Revolution tried to eradicate the Bible and inaugurated the reign of reason, which is the root of atheism. But death couldn’t hold the 2 witnesses, just like it couldn’t hold Jesus…
I need you to visualize this like a movie: 2 witnesses ascend to heaven… Can you see them? Look at them like when the people looked when Jesus ascended… But suddenly, you see an angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people (Rev. 14:6)
The 2 witnesses and than the 3 witnesses are God’s people… We are the witnesses! We are Moses and Elijah; we are Joshua and Zerubbabel. We are the three angels…

They killed the Bible, but resurrection came. Never before in history could the 3 angels fly like today. Nevertheless, it seems to me that the witnesses are confused. We don’t understand what it means to witness together… I see too many lonely witnesses. Truth for this world (about mercy and justice) can only be established if the witnesses testified in harmony… not in unison! In harmony…! You are not meant to do this alone!

Children’s Baptismal Classes have resumed - 10:30-11:30 AM in the Prayer Room. All children ages 8-12 who are interested in being baptized are welcome to attend.
