Grace Alone

“For all have sinned and fall short”

Jesus became our propitiation – He satisfied God’s wrath against our unrighteousness

But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him.
Isaiah 53:5-6

But the LORD was pleased to crush Him, putting Him to grief; if He would render Himself as a guilt offering…As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, As He will bear their iniquities.
Isaiah 53:10-11

and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
Hebrews 9:12

The whole Bible points to needing God’s provision by grace

Before the cross, God’s grace looked ahead to the atonement of Jesus

God’s grace has now been publicly displayed for all to see and know

Salvation is completely, fully and unmistakenly an act of grace by God – Grace alone

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9

He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy…
Titus 3:5

Faith Alone

“The one who has faith” – faith is the doorway to grace

The object of faith that brings God’s grace is Jesus

You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder
James 2:19

But these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.
John 20:31

By faith alone allows for no boasting

Nothing in my hand I bring, simply to Thy cross I cling; Naked, come to Thee for dress; Helpless, look to Thee for grace; Foul, I to the fountain fly; Wash me, Savior, or I die - Rock of Ages, Augustus Montague Toplady 1776

Salvation by grace, through faith is available to everyone

All have sinned and face God’s wrath and all are welcome to come by faith to receive His grace
