Why are you laboring for that which can’t satisfy?
Are you focused on the fulfillment of the promise, or have you begun to look back?
Key Theme:
Jesus, the Bread of Life, is God’s promised provision who alone can truly satisfy the hunger of our souls.
Key Application:
Don’t labor for what can’t satisfy. This Christmas, fix your heart on the Bread of Life.
Just as manna sustained Israel, Jesus alone satisfies our deepest longings. He is enough in the wilderness of our world and the fulfillment of every divine promise. Let Him be your daily bread.
Key Verses:
Micah 5:2 “But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.”
Key Questions:
1. What are the “bags with holes” (Haggai 1:6) in your own life, things you keep pursuing but that never fill you?
2. Are you focused on the fulfillment of the promise, or have you begun to look back? Where are you tempted to return to the old “meals” of Egypt, to find comfort in the very things Christ freed you from?
3. In what ways can you practically “come and eat” (Isaiah 55:1–2) from Christ this season, through prayer, scripture, or worship?

Church family, we praise God for how faithfully in so many respects you give. Our church family is undeniably generous, but we still have great needs for supplication. We ask that you give joyfully, faithfully and sacrificially in response to how our great God and Savior has given to us.
