Christmas 2025 Pt 1: Peace Over Finances
This Christmas, we’re leaning into the promise of Isaiah 9:6—Jesus, the Prince of Peace. In a season that can feel rushed, stretched, and uncertain, this series will help us find real peace in our waiting, in our finances, and in every part of life.

Christmas begins with a bill.
The first Christmas wasn’t peaceful because of what people could afford, it was peaceful because of who God sent.
• 57% of Americans of Americans say they’re willing to take on more debt just to make their loved ones happy at Christmas.
• 36% of Americans are still carrying debt from last year into this year.
• 36% of Americans are still carrying debt from last year into this year.
We think that giving our kids more will make them happier, but sometimes all we’re really doing is giving them a habit that will haunt them later.
Peace happens when a war ends.
1. A war between wisdom and impulse.
• Impulse trades your future for a feeling.
• Wisdom trades a feeling for your future.
• Wisdom trades a feeling for your future.
The active way to surrender impulse: Create A Budget
“Zero-Based Budget” You assign your money a purpose before your emotions assign it a purchase.

1. Where did our money go this week?
2. What do we need for next week?
3. What do we need to adjust?
2. What do we need for next week?
3. What do we need to adjust?
1. A war between what we want and what we can afford - DEBT
• A mortgage is an investment in your family’s stability.
• A mirage is when you’re just chasing an image that isn’t real.
• A mirage is when you’re just chasing an image that isn’t real.
“We can’t afford that right now.”
Avalanche Plan
• Pay off the highest-interest debt first, then move to the next highest.
• Pay off the highest-interest debt first, then move to the next highest.
Snowball Plan
• Pay off your smallest debt first and roll that payment into the next.
• Pay off your smallest debt first and roll that payment into the next.
Debt loses its power the moment you choose honesty over image and humility over pressure.
3. A war between generosity and fear.
Surrender looks like giving generously.
Budget your generosity.
“None Giving” is not God’s plan.
Generosity leaves fingerprints that endure.
Generosity always costs something.
Don't wait until you "HAVE ENOUGH." Begin with the question "GOD HOW?"
Christmas began with a bill.
Peace is not a product. Peace is a person.
