Psalm 34:1-10 NLT
1 I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises.
2 I will boast only in the Lord; let all who are helpless take heart.
3 Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.
4 I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
6 In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; he saved me from all my troubles.
7 For the angel of the Lord is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him.
8 Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!
9 Fear the Lord, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need.
10 Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.
4…He freed me from all my fears.
5 …no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
6 …he saved me from all my troubles.
7 …he surrounds and defends all who fear him.

9 …will have all they need.
The promise David attached to “Taste and see that the Lord is good,” is…
…"Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!” NLT
…"blessed in the one who trusts/takes refuge in Him”. NIV
Psalm 119:103
How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
In these next hours we are all going to eat.
Many of us sharing in feasts that will have so much food we won’t be able to consume it all.
There will be leftovers and we will return to eat again and again.
Rejoice in the food, it’s variety and what it does for us.
Try something different to see if you’ve been missing something that’s really good.
And in these days, seek and ask God what He wants you to taste and see.
Benediction: based on Psalm 107:1-9

May the goodness and steadfast love of the Lord be made known to you this week.
When you are tempted to allow your days to be defined by the things that would lead you to wander from your Maker, may the One who has brought you to redemption also redeem your troubled days.
May any wandering in your life only serve to remind you that your Heavenly Father is constantly in pursuit of you, and His love endures forever.
May the God who always welcomes us home reveal to you the countless reasons we have to be thankful to Him.
May this lead you who are currently wandering or feeling lost to turn back towards home.
During this week when Thanksgiving is so popular, may the blessings you take time to reflect on be reminders that God’s goodness is never in short supply.
May your soul find its satisfaction in your Creator, for all good things find their source in Him.
