We all carry expectations into marriage.
We expect our spouse to fill emotional, spiritual or relational gaps in us.
A spouse makes a great companion but a terrible savior.
Do you really want to have a good or great marriage?
God is the one who created marriage.
What does it mean to leave, cleave and become one flesh?
Leave: A shift of primary loyalty.
Cleave: A covenant bond.
One Flesh: A unified life.
I WILL seek God first.
“Your spouse complements you, but only Jesus completes you.”
First, receive God’s love and grace.
A spiritually empty person becomes a relationally demanding spouse.
Second, grow in your love for God.
Third, out of your relationship with God, put Him first in your marriage.
Joshua 24:15b NLT

Worship together weekly.
Pray together daily.
Serve regularly.
Focus on God centered marriage yearly.
Marriage Promise: As we move closer to God, we will move closer to each other.
The goal isn’t to fix your spouse. The goal is for both of you to move toward God.
