How do we live holy Christian lives?
1. Who is the Holy Spirit?
* The Holy Spirit is God
* The Holy Spirit is a person

"Joy is not the absence of sadness, or sorrow, but it is the presence of the Holy Spirit."
2. How are we filled with the Holy Spirit?
* Being filled with the Holy Spirit is a process of continually yielding more of our will and desire to God.
* Being filled with the Holy Spirit is a process of continually yielding more of our will and desire to God.
The act of being filled with the Holy Spirit is not simply an adding (pouring) more of the Holy Spirit inside of us, it is more of a subtracting (surrendering) of ourselves over to the rule and ways of God.
* We receive an empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
3. What are the results of being filled with the Holy Spirit?
* Encourage one another with psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit (v19a)

* Singing to the Lord from your heart (v.19b)
* Giving thanks to the Lord for everything (v20)
* Submitting to one another out of reverence to Jesus. (V21)
