Sometimes the BEST things are on the other side of the DIFFICULT things.
So watch yourselves. “If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.” The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” Luke 17:3-5
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. ’I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you...” Matthew 5:43-44
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15
Forgiveness is not FORGETTING, it’s choosing not to bring it into the PRESENT.
“I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. Isaiah 43:25
Forgiveness isn’t FAIR.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; ... Psalm 103:11
Forgiveness is GIVING to OTHERS what God has given to us in Jesus.
God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. Colossians 2:13b-14
It takes faith to believe that on the other side of an OFFENSE there’s something better than holding a GRUDGE.
