SMALL GROUP DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. Icebreaker: Have you ever tried to make or build something that looked way better in your head than it did in real life? (Think school projects, baking, Minecraft builds, or art attempts!) How did you feel when it didn’t turn out the way you hoped?

2. Read Haggai 2:3–4 and answer the following questions:
• Why were the people discouraged? What do you think made them feel like their effort wasn’t worth it?
• God tells them three times: “Be strong.” Why do you think He repeats that? What does it mean to be strong when you feel weak or unmotivated?
• In verse 4, God also says, “Work, for I am with you.” How can knowing that God is with you change your attitude toward hard things in life?

3. Read Haggai 2:8–9. God promises that the new temple’s glory will be greater than the former. What does that teach us about how God works through our obedience, even when we can’t see the full picture?

4. Read Galatians 6:9. What are some areas of life where people your age get tired of “doing good”? Why is it so hard to stay consistent in those areas?

5. What’s the difference between doing something perfectly and doing it faithfully? Which one do you think matters more to God and why?

6. Application: Pick one spiritual habit or area of obedience (like prayer, generosity, serving, reading Scripture, or showing kindness) and commit to practice it for the next 7 days, no matter how small it feels.

7. Any final thoughts/questions/prayer requests?
