1 Corinthians 8-10
1Corinthians so far:
Ch 1-6: arrogance, divisions, sexual immorality, lawsuits
Ch 7: questions about marriage, divorce, singleness, sexuality
Ch 8: questions about food offered to idols
Paul answers a question thru ch 8-10 =
-Can we eat sacrificed food in the temple? No 8:10
-Can we eat sacrificed food in our homes? Yes 10:25
-Can we eat sacrificed food in host’s homes? Maybe 10:27-28
Following Jesus means we don’t use our Rights for Wrongs
We need to be careful not to damage another believer’s faith by flaunting our freedoms
Some people have a past that they cannot visit without compromising their now, and they need to avoid the trappings of past beliefs and practices so they won’t get trapped again.
We need to be mindful some practices can allow demonic activity into our life
As in 6:18, flee immorality, so in 10:14 flee idolatry
Idols are not real, but demons are, so don’t dabble with what God calls evil.

CS Lewis, The Screwtape Letters
We want to be worshipful to God in all we do

MomCo Needs Your Support!

BeFree MomCo supports and encourages moms with young kids in our church and community, but we can't do it without the help of others!

Here are some ways you can get involved!

KidsCo Leader - coordinate and organize our KidsCo program and volunteers with the support of MomCo resources
KidsCo Volunteer - care for and share the love of Jesus with our children while moms get the opportunity to meet together
KidsCo Teen Volunteer - assist in caring for our children, gain valuable childcare experience
Speak or Lead an Activity - share encouragement or special interests with the moms

If you're interested in being a part of BeFree MomCo in any way or have questions, reach out to Alyssa Gifford at befreemomco@gmail.com.

Student Study: Sundays @ 9am

Students in grades 5-12: join us on Sunday mornings at 9am at the church for a breakfast snack while we dig into the Gospel of Luke.

Youth Group: Sundays @ 6pm

Our high school youth group (grades 7-12) is an opportunity for students to come hear the good news of Jesus Christ and create community through games, discussion, and events. Our goal is to meet most Sunday evenings with larger events once a month. Check the schedule at https://befree.church/barrington-calendar?tag=youth-group for location (most meetings are at BeFree).
