• God Moments: how have you seen God working, either in your life or in the life of another, over the past week? Did God answer any prayer requests that you had shared last time?

• Meditation Verse: last week, we discussed Hebrews 4:12. How has this verse affected your life this week?

Focus Verse - read Genesis 12:1,3. As a group, share what other things Abram would have left behind when he obeyed God. (For example - his favorite camel auction place).

CREATION
1. Satan's first lie to humanity had catastrophic results. Read Genesis 3:1-5.

** 1A. Share one lie that you have believed about God or about yourself.

1B. What truth do you think God would say to you instead?

GENERATIONS
2. Part of God's covenant with Abraham involved a place. Read Genesis 12:1.

2A. Do you trust God enough to obey Him if He told you to "make a move" without knowing the final outcome? It could involve your job, your home, or anything in your life.

2B. What are some things we can do to build this kind of trust in God?

MIGRATION
3. Consider this - the people of Israel were considered foreigners in Egypt despite living there for 400 years. Read Exodus 1:8-10.

3A. What do you think the Israelites did or didn't do to keep their identity pure (ie, to still be considered foreigners after all that time)?

Read 1 Peter 2:9

3B. This verse states that we are a "holy nation." How should we as Christ- followers live in order to be seen as foreigners in a world that isn't our home?

4. Imagine wandering in the desert for 40 years as a consequence for your parents' disobedience. Read Numbers 14:31-33.

4A. What lessons have you learned as a result of your parents' mistakes?

Prayer 4U - Have everyone share one area of their life where they have difficulty trusting God with the next step. This week, pray for the person on your left that God would increase their trust.

Guided Prayer - (Leader, include the following in your prayer time) God, thank you for showing us who You are and what You're like through your Word. Help us to stand against Satan's lies that are meant to harm us. Let us live in your Truth. Increase our faith and trust in you as we learn about your faithfulness to your people. And help us live out our lives like the holy nation that you have made us to be through your son, Jesus. Amen.
