Colossians 1:15-23
This text tells us four things about Jesus and what He is doing in the world:
I. Jesus is the Creator of all things (Colossians 1:15-16).
II. Jesus is before all things (Colossians 1:17-18).
III. Jesus is reconciling all things (Colossians 1:19-20).
IV. Jesus is reconciling you to Himself (Colossians 1:21-22).

Thanksgiving and Christmas Community Outreach
Our Goshen family will be helping Spotsylvania Elementary this year by providing food for some of the families during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. The school has provided us with the four family sizes so we can help provide Thanksgiving meals. All food items needed can be found on the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board and must be returned no later than Sunday, November 16.
Good News Club Volunteers Needed
We are currently looking for some volunteers to help with Good News Club at Spotsylvania Elementary. There will be a very brief meeting after church on November 16 if you are interested. For questions or further information, please contact Susan Schubel.
Christmas at Busch Gardens, Nov 22
Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 22 as we head to Christmastown at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg. We’ll leave the church in the morning, stop at Premium Outlets for a little shopping, enjoy lunch, then spend the evening soaking in the beauty of Christmastown. Space is limited on the church bus. The Christmas We Didn't Plan, Dec 6 @ 5:30
We are getting ready for our Christmas play “The Christmas We Didn’t Plan” and we’d love for your kids to be a part of it. We will have our first practice today right after church (lunch will be provided). If you have any questions or would like your child(ren) to participate, please contact Travis Earley or Laura Bonner.
Christmas Donations for Elementary Students
Spotsylvania Elementary has provided requests for Christmas gifts for six children. The gift tags for each child and the requested gift can be found on the small tree outside of the church office. We ask that the gift be wrapped and returned with the tag and gift receipt (if possible) no later than Sunday, December 14. Thank you for your ongoing support of Spotsylvania Elementary and its families. For any other questions, please contact Winnie Boyce at 540-847-9287.
AWANA Substitutes Needed
We are still I need of substitutes to be on standby for AWANA on Wednesday evenings. As we head into cold and flu season, we are sure to have volunteers out from time to time. If you have any questions or are interested in joining us some evening, please contact Laura Bonner.
Friday Food Bags/BJ’s Coupons
We will begin our sixth year of the Friday Food Bag ministry with Spotsylvania Elementary School. Each week we deliver a bag of food/snack items for children to take home over the weekend. The school provides us with the number of bags needed. This number can change throughout the school year. Last year we provided 57 bags for the majority of the school year. We appreciate any unused BJ’s coupons to use towards purchasing the items. During our first shopping trip to begin restocking items, we were able to save $171.25 with coupons. Thank you for your generous support and continued prayers for this ministry.
Kitchen Volunteers Needed
We are currently in need of kitchen volunteers to help in times of potlucks or special events. If this is something that would be of interest to you or if you have any questions, please reach out to Winnie Boyce.
Parenting Conference, February 20-21, 2026
Mark your calendar for February 20-21, 2026. We will be hosting Tate and Wendy Cockrell for a parenting conference. More details will be forthcoming. You won’t want to miss it!
Goshen Guild
With your sword strapped and quiver full, it's time to find your quest! The Goshen Guild meets most third Sundays from 1:30-4:00 pm for collaborative story-telling and fun using the Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) table-top role-playing game (TTRGP). This event is open to all middle and high school students, with the intention of growing leadership, teamwork, and communication skills while providing a safe place to play.
Tables are designed for players to come and go as they are available. Players may bring their own characters (unless otherwise noted), select a premade character, or come between 1:30-2:00 pm to receive help building a character. All characters should use only the Player's Handbook (2014), Xanathar's Guide to Everything, and Tasha's Cauldron of Everything as source material.

Prayer Requests
One of the groups we offer in the Goshen app is our Prayer Community. We encourage you to join this group and use this tool for your prayer requests. This is an easy and great way to get requests out immediately without having to go through the church office. If you have any questions about the app or how to join one of the groups, please contact the office.
Children’s Ministry Volunteers Needed
The Children’s Ministry is urgently seeking volunteers to help with both Sunday school and Awana programs. These ministries are vital in providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children to grow in their faith, but they cannot thrive without the dedication and service of volunteers.
