God is generous and so He calls us to be as well. What we do with what God has given us shows the world where our hearts are at and helps proclaim the gospel. We want to glorify God with every area of our lives, and that includes what we do with our finances.

Why Believers Minister to the Body of Christ
- The upbuilding of the body of Christ (v. 12)
- The unity of faith and the unity of the knowledge of the Son of God (v. 13)
- That the body of Christ attain a unified personality of Christ-likeness (v. 13)
- That we not be gullible, unstable and deceived (v. 14)

How do all believers minister to the Body of Christ?
Speaking doctrinal truth about God and about Christ in love (v. 15)

Practical Ways Believers Minister to the Body of Christ?
1. Believers minister to the body of Christ by relying on Christ as the source of growth (v. 15c-16a)
- Christ gave gifts and grace to all (v. 7)
- Christ gave equippers to the church (v. 11)
- Christ is the model and aim (v. 13)
- Christ is the source and builder of the church (Matthew 16:18)
- The Lord produces love (1 Thessalonians 3:11-13)
- Christ ultimately wins obedience through word and deed (Romans 15:18)
2. Believers minister to the body of Christ by recognizing "The whole body...makes the growth of the body" (v. 16a-b)
3. The growth among the body comes by connectedness (v. 16c)
- The Joint: is every place of connection (from part to part)
- The Point: growth happens through points of contact
The supply is doctrinal truth and supernatural Holy Spirit provided love.
4. "Believers in the body work in measure of each individual part" (v. 16f)
Every individual member works within the measure given to them.
5. The body of Christ is upbuilt thorugh/from Christ, but we do make a difference (v. 16f)
The measure we are graced is not the most important but our obedience with that measure of grace is vitally important.
