Two years ago, on October 7, Israel was plunged into a period of violence and war that the Israeli people still face.
One year ago, friends of Israel came together in sorrow, in solidarity, and in supportâraising Flags of Fellowship for the 1,200 lives lost on that dark day.
Today, Flags of Fellowship is truly a movement of people who love Israel. Itâs a movement of churches, synagogues, colleges, and faith leaders uniting in our support for Israel, and praying and acting for Godâs Chosen People.

How to BLESS Your Neighbor
Begin with Prayer
Listening
Eating.
Matthew 9:9-1 As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collectorâs booth. âFollow me,â He told him, and Matthew got up and followed Him. While Jesus was having dinner at Matthewâs house, many tax collectors and âsinnersâ came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, âWhy does your teacher eat with tax collectors and âsinnersâ?â On hearing this, Jesus said, âIt is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: âI desire mercy, not sacrifice.â For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.ââ
Luke 7:34-35 âThe Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, âHere is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and âsinners.â But wisdom is shown to be right by the lives of those who follow it.ââ
âWhen we invite friends for a meal, we do much more than offer them food for their bodies. We offer friendship, fellowship, good conversation, intimacy, and closeness. When we say, 'Help yourself⌠take some more⌠donât be shy⌠have another glassâŚ' we offer our guests not only our food and drink but also ourselves. A spiritual bond grows, and we become food and drink for one another.â -Henri J.M. Nouwen
When we eat together, weâre doing way more than simply sharing a meal â weâre living on mission.
Challenge: BLESS by Eating
Excuse #1: âI don't like to have people in my home.â
Excuse #2: âI wouldn't know what to say.â
Excuse #3: âI just don't have time.â
âSharing meals together on a regular basis is one of the most sacred practices we can engage in as believers. Missional hospitality is a tremendous opportunity to extend the kingdom of God. We can literally eat our way into the kingdom of God! If every Christian household regularly invited a stranger or a poor person into their home for a meal once a week, we would literally change the world by eating!â âAlan Hirsch and Lance Ford
