Ten principles to have a "healthy eye" - a biblical view of wealth:
------------
1. All we have is from God

- Acts 17:24-25
- 1 Corinthians 4:7
- John 3:27
- Deuteronomy 8:17-18

- God's probably not going to ask you to give everything He's given you back to him, but He does expect you to honor him with all of it. We are stewards (lit - “house caretaker”) for the purpose of the owners and master’s enjoyment.

- Does how you use/spend, steward His resources, bring God joy, delight and satisfaction?

- If you were God, would you give you more money?
Ten principles to have a "healthy eye" - a biblical view of wealth:
------------
2. God is incredibly generous

- John 3:16

- Other Examples: Prodigal, Holy Spirit, the Bible, Creation
Ten principles to have a "healthy eye" - a biblical view of wealth:
------------
3. We are to be more like God

- We are created in the image of God meaning we are to mirror/reflect his nature/character, including His generosity.

- Does your generosity mirror, reflect and show the world the generous nature of God?

- Sanctification is being conformed to image of Christ.

- Is your giving still growing in conformity to the generosity of Jesus?
Regarding your growth in being generous like Jesus, are you still a one year old Christian whose done the same thing over and over again?
Ten principles to have a "healthy eye" - a biblical view of wealth:
------------
4. Satan hates godly generosity

- The enemy seeks to kill, to steal and to destroy – often times he does so, not with opposite direction but a degree of divergence.

- What is your aim with the wealth God has given you? What target are you trying to hit with the resources God has entrusted to you?
Ten principles to have a "healthy eye" - a biblical view of wealth:
------------
5. Satan will tempt us with greed

- 1 Timothy 6:6-10
- Hebrews 13:5

- “Financial freedom” is what Richard Foster called “a joyful life marked by unconcern for possessions.”

- G.K. Chesterton said, “There are two ways to get enough. One is to continue to accumulate more, the other is to desire less.”

- Are you living a joyful life marked by unconcern for possession?
Ten principles to have a "healthy eye" - a biblical view of wealth:
------------
6. Money is the greatest competitor for the human heart

- Over 2K scriptures deal with our finances, that is more than heaven or hell combined!

- Jesus talked so much about money, because He knows that it competes for our heart’s affection more than anything else.

- When you get your eyes fixed on Jesus then money takes it proper place.

- Live a life of generosity in response to the fact your eyes are fixed on Jesus.
Ten principles to have a "healthy eye" - a biblical view of wealth:
------------
7. Money is a terrible master

- Money is a terrible master because it falsely promise to do for you what only God can do.

- “Money is not God, money is not alive, money cannot raise the dead and money cannot love you back. It is meant to represent value, it’s just currency - we gain money for what we provide or how we serve, and then we exchange it for things we need or want; but money will not shepherd us, money will not teach us truth, it will not give it’s self in our place, money is not at the right hand of God interceding for us, money does not give us it’s righteousness. Money is a means to an end. Jesus is an end unto himself.”
Ten principles to have a "healthy eye" - a biblical view of wealth:
------------
8. The only antidote to greed is generosity

- 1 Timothy 6:17-18
- Luke 12:17-21

- The only way decrease the control money has over your heart is to give it away.

- The question for people who seriously follow Christ is not, “How much should give, but how much do I actually need to keep?"
Ten principles to have a "healthy eye" - a biblical view of wealth:
------------
9. It’s more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35) How?

- It’s more blessed because your faith and trust in God can grow more as you give more.

- At the end of our live 86% of your regret will be from inaction.

- Don’t let this be a regret - engage, take action because God can’t use what you don’t give!
Ten principles to have a "healthy eye" - a biblical view of wealth:
------------
10. God calls each of us to radical generosity for his glory.

- More than our church reaching its financial goal, the door God wants to open more than any is the door in your heart.
“Human pride is the engine of mediocrity. It fools us into believing that we have “arrived", that we are complete, that there is little else to learn, do or grow, but Christlike humility reminds us that we are all incomplete and urges us on toward new heights.”
- Will you begin praying about committing to a level of generosity that may scare you a little bit?

- Fear mainly comes from inexperience not inability.

- Be here every week of this series, don’t dodge the challenge, don't be afraid and hide like Adam and Eve.

- Show up, lean in, fully engage and believe it is better to Open Doors for the Lord than anything else.
