1. The Samaritan...

Next Steps
1. As you go into this week, prayerfully consider one person—at home, work, or in your community—you could intentionally slow down for and show empathy and compassion toward in a practical way?
2. Faithfully do #1 above and see how God might use that opportunity for more.
Growth Group / Personal Reflection Questions
1. Can you share a time when someone noticed what you were going through and showed you a small act of compassion that really stuck with you?
2. The priest and Levite saw the wounded man but passed by, while the Samaritan “was moved with compassion”. What do you think keeps us from allowing ourselves to feel and act on empathy towards others in our daily lives?
3. In our busy lives—balancing careers, family, and other commitments—what are the “good reasons” we sometimes use to excuse ourselves from responding with compassion and empathy?
4. The Samaritan risked time, money, and possibly his reputation to care for the injured man. In your own season of life, what might it look like to practice this kind of generosity—in your family, workplace, church or community?
5. Jesus tells us to “go and do likewise.” How can practicing compassion and empathy—truly entering another person’s suffering—transform both the person in need and us as followers of Christ?
