"The Way to a Blessed Life"
Many fall into that trap of thinking that THINGS = BLESSING
The culture associates blessing with “Good Things” that bring us pleasure and happiness.
The Jesus Way to living a blessed life calls for SURRENDER and putting others before yourself.
To be BLESSED means “to receive God's favor, grace, and forgiveness, leading to spiritual fulfillment, inner joy, eternal peace, and hope. It is a state of lasting joy and contentment found by living a life in alignment with the way of Jesus.”
A BLESSED LIFE is the byproduct of a relationship with Jesus.
1. THEY TEACH US WHERE TRUE JOY AND BLESSING IS FOUND
We want to change our POSITION in life.
But God wants to change our DISPOSITION.
But God wants to change our DISPOSITION.
Paul didn’t equate blessing with circumstances.
2. THEY REVEAL WHAT CAN BE OURS IF WE FOLLOW GOD’S PLAN
The phrase “Poor in Spirit” refers to a person who recognizes they are powerless and must rely on God
The BE-ATTITUDES show us that with every area of OBEDIENCE, TRUST, and SURRENDER in our lives comes the Blessing and Favor of God!
3. THEY TEACH US THE JESUS WAY
First, OUR Way is to EARN God’s Blessing, THE JESUS WAY is understanding you’re ALREADY BLESSED.
OUR way is to seek Temporary Pleasure, THE JESUS WAY is to seek Lasting Joy and Satisfaction.
Third, OUR way is to fight for CONTROL, THE JESUS WAY is to SURRENDER.
